About the Artist
Mano Gonzales is a self-taught artist based in Manila. Drawing on a wide range of influences ranging from history through to film, photography, and fashion, Mano Gonzales introduces a body of work that includes drawing, product design, and styling. He is interested in how art emerges from the information systems and physical processes that surround us every day. His current works using pencil and paper examines the use of found historical imagery, both fact, and fiction, to serve as flash points when thinking through questions of politics, identity, and gender in a society’s collective memory.
